Overview

Project Change is a journey of self-exploration in new and inspiring places. You may be stuck, unhappy, stressed or simply love yoga, travel, running and want to be your better self.

It's difficult to create change in our everyday lives, without stepping out of our comfort zones; it's through this philosophy that Project Change evolved.

With Project Change, you'll achieve personal development and awareness through sustainable travel, elephant conservation and thought-provoking adventures using elemental yoga therapy, coaching, running, mindfulness, surfing/SUP and food. Explore and learn how to create the next chapter in your life...with purpose!

Luxury Accommodation & Delicious Food

Overview

You will be staying in various beautiful and luxurious venues throughout Sri Lanka, as well as an elephant research centre, which is basic but homely and a very important part of the journey - to go back to basics and appreciate the simple things. You'll be surrounded by the incredible wonders of our planet with waterfalls, elephants and the ocean. The accommodations offer scenic views, plush beds and bright airy decor.

Food is a huge part of Project Change. What we put in our bodies and how we feel is a fundamental part of making effective change. The food will be vegetarian, local and freshly prepared each day. Meat and vegan options are also available.

The Plan

Day 1

After arriving in Sri Lanka, Colombo by 4:00PM, you'll transfer to your first hotel in Negombo. Then, once you’ve settled into your accommodation, you’ll unwind with a gentle yin yoga class and meditation followed by a candlelit welcome ceremony. Might even squeeze in a beach run for those who want to stretch the legs and a sunset drink before a delicious buffet dinner full of local delicacies.

Day 2

An optional morning beach run then ease into the retreat with a grounding sunrise yoga practice embodying the Earth element, followed by breakfast. Then you'll head out to the explore the magnificent Dambulla Cave temple, a World Heritage-listed monastery and after lunch visit the famous Sigiriya Rock, also known as Lion Rock due to its dramatic and magical palace ruins. End the day with a restorative Yin yoga practice and self-reflection workshop before dinner.

Day 3

After a revitalising yoga session —embodying the Earth & Water elements—and a delicious breakfast, you'll head out on an adventure to an Elephant Conservation Project, where you'll spend two days and nights getting your hands dirty supporting the local community to tackle human/elephant conflict. Connecting back to nature and interacting with the raw and real conflicts of life in Sri Lanka will facilitate true reflection of your own situation. Various coaching and mindfulness sessions will be weaved into the daily activities of these two days.

Day 4

Wake up with a sunrise run, Yang yoga class, maybe a walk to see the birds and local wildlife or just relax. The day will continue with more conservation work, looking at elephant migration routes, and the threats faced by farmers and local communities. Finishing the day with an evening Yin class to unwind whilst looking out across the beautiful reservoir.

Day 5

Morning Yang yoga embracing the Fire element - really getting into the heat of the project before making your way to the final destination of the Sri Lanka adventure, a peaceful coastal paradise. Once you've settled into your new accommodation and enjoyed a hearty lunch, you'll spend the afternoon in a creative coaching workshop. The workshop will focus on self-development through identifying bad habits, tolerances and energy zappers that you want to transform. As the sun starts to set you'll finish the day with a relaxing Yin yoga class and a tasty dinner.

Day 6

Start the day with an early morning run or relax in your beautiful beachside accommodation before your Air and Space yoga session begins. Then, participate in a range of coaching and development sessions throughout the day to go deeper into the journey you've been on. These last few days are focused on self-reflection and space to focus on creating positive action to take back into your everyday life.

Day 7

A similar start to yesterday with healthy, active and relaxing options, including a Space and Earth Yoga session, beach runs and surfing. Following lunch, you'll have one of the last group sessions to complete your journey of self-exploration, set some goals and targets and look forward to the transformation that you want to implement. The last night ends with a lovely closing ceremony and an incredible farewell dinner.

Day 8

Enjoy a final tasty breakfast before you transfer to the airport.
